just bought a 2010 STX and wondering if I should take it to some place like Ziebarts to have the rust prevention put on. Or is this just over kill?

 

Definately not overkill. I have all mine done at custom trim

 

I had a TST coating put on last year and would highly recommend. It was recommended to me by another guy here at work. He has an '06 with it and it still looks awesome. He has tried other sprays and gone thru the gammut of them. After he showed me his research on the product I was sold and still am:
