Maaco Paint.
Maaco Paint.
So due to the scratches, severe oxidation on my hood and roof (in some spots all the way down to the metal), and a couple of door dings ive decided to get my truck repainted. Heres the deal, I dont need a showroom finish or a $5000 paint job. Just something thats going to look a nice average paint job. I talked to maaco and they are offering a base coat/clear coat paint job(not the one spray fits all deal) that will look like factory for $1300 this also includes a 5 year warranty...now i know maaco has a bad rap but a warranty is a warranty, how bad could it be? Also everytime I here something bad about maaco its from people who paid for the $200 special, and come on...what do you expect. Does maaco have a bad rap because they offer a variety of levels of paint and people are paying the $250 and expecting it to look brand new? Also i'm under the impression Maacos are franchise owned so anyone can go and open them, they're not all the same...so how are ALL of them bad? Anyhow I also got quoted $2000 from a sleezy looking auto body place..no warranty no garuantee, nothing. Just thought I'd ask for yalls opinions, ive been in the shadows of this site for years and know yall have some good info or maybe even some with personal experience???
Thanks in advance, oh and if this is the wrong section to post please advice and i'll fix it up.

I got a Maaco paint job on my Talon (that I regret selling) and for $615ish, I got the car sanded down, dings fixed, primed, painted and cleared with no significant problems what so ever. Only one small run under the right outer mirror but I only noticed it when I waxed under there. The car was black so every imperfection should have been able to be seen. I would recommend them to anyone.
I had a Maaco paint job done to my '86 5.0 GT a long time ago.. Before I traded it for the F150 (I wish I could have kept it!!) I paid around $1200 out the door. They sanded down the hood (with that flat black hood decal), roof and back lid. Fixed some minor dings and dents and it turned out to be a pretty decent job IMO... I think I traded it a year or so later, and no issues with the paint.. I only got $1500 for the Stang, but I really, wanted that F150!!
At least I still have it!
