Looking for suggestions for 'do it yourself'
dummy recovery...
I pulled up next to our mailbox, retrieved
the mail and was looking at one envelope
when I pulled away. Sure enough I heard this
screech and stopped, realized I'd come too
close to the corner of the metal mailbox and
really left a 4ft. 1/8 wide scratch. Looks
like someone 'keyed' the car! Dumb!

So, aside from a new paint job... this is
the 97 'green' F150 paint job, forget what
they call it... don't know if a 'touch up'
would work as the scratch is so long.

Thoughts? Suggestions, products? Thanks.

 

If the scratch broke through the paint down to the metal or the primer I would suggest repainting the affected panels.
Touch up would look horrible and polishing would do no good.
