Pin stripe glue revoval
Need some help. You know that annoying pinstriping they put on almost all of the trucks to help break up the solid color. Well I took it off by hand but I don't know a good way to get the glue off the paint. I tried alcahol and a cotton swab but that isn't working at all. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try vegetable oil. You will definitly have to wash the truck afterwards, but it works. If was a cleaning tip in one of my wifes magazines for getting glue from stickers off of things when they were removed would damaging what you were taking it off of. We did this with her first mustang and the stripes had already been on the vehicle for a couple of years.
Does require a little elbow grease too though.

I HAVE HAD SUCCESS WITH A PRODUCT CALLED "GOOF OFF". IT COMES IN A LITTLE CAN LIKE CIGARETTE LIGHTER FLUID AND IS YELLOW AND RED. COME TO THINK OF IT, MAYBE IT IS LIGHTER FLUID BUT I WOULDN'T TRY IT. I USED THIS STUFF TO REMOVE LARGE GRAPHICS DECALS FROM A FLEET VEHICLE. A LITTLE WORK BUT DID THE JOB.
Thanks for the tips, The stickers have been baking down here in the Florida heat for about 2 yrs and before that they baked in the South Carolina sun. The glue was still very sticky and 90% stuck to the stripe itself.
I made a mistake when I first started pulling it off. I was pulling the stripe over itself to remove. When I started pulling it in the opposite direction the glue stayed on as long as I went slow.
Of course the frickin 98% humidity down here may have something to do with the glue staying tacky.
Thanks again.

I used mineral spirits when I took mine off, but the truck was new and the glue was still very soft and tacky, so I'm not sure if your glue is dry/brittle after 3 years or not...Chris's idea might work well because it softens up the glue or "moistens" it...
Moist is always easier to work with than dry......
