The way I read the original post, it's just been sitting not being driven for 4 years.

Think of it this way. It's a good practice/learning car and if it comes out bad it's still only a chebby!

Yeah it's been driven a handful of times in the past 4 years. Just waiting for it to be dropped @ my place. He wanted me to do it there, but that would be a deal breaker. He's got a dirt/gravel driveway. No way can you detail in dirt and expect positive results.

Just remember to keep claying it till you can stick your hand in a sandwich bag and drag it across the surface without feeling any roughness. Otherwise, when you start with the compounding you will just grind the crap further into the paint and create all kinds of scratches and swirls.

Lol ive been dealing with that for the last 4 years. I live on a dirt driveway and its a pain in the . Just today i took it to the spray and wash and rinsed it off and then put a nice coat of mothers wax on it. Atleast it was spotless for about a hour

just waiting for the chebby now...

OK now... got a bunch of clay, the PC D/A some #105 and #205 and megs Gold Carnuba. waiting for cheby....

So, started taking some swirls off my white '05 Supercrew. This is awesome! Hope the Chebby doesn't get here for a few more days.... took me 2 hours to do the drivers side cab and fender (painters tape took a while). Looks great though...

Remember that white is much more forgiving than black. Things that wouldn't even show in white will stick out like a sore thumb in black. Done correctly though, black looks awesome.

Update

OK the entire car is a mess. After I warshed it off I could see it was a disaster. Simply put the car needs to be repainted. There isn't one panel that is free from paint defects down to the 'primer' or worse. Thanks to all of you who posted advice.

I was going to say, looking at the pictures, I saw CC failure and cracks in the paint and so on under all the grime. It would have been a miracle to have turned that around!
