how can I get off two sided tape residue from window visors?

I used to have a set of Auto ventshade tape on vindow vents on my 02 screw{FYI-they were JUNK!} Last week when it was really hot out my drivers door one started to loosen up. I thought no problem I'll just take em off and get some two sided tape and re-do them. When I went to get the rears off they snapped in half Did not want my screw looking goofy so I removed all the visiors-now I have that unsightly grey tape residue around the tops of my doors and I want to get it off. Some of it is on the paint These were on my truck when I purchased it usesd in 06 and the preivous owner installed them. I still want window vents but I want the in channel style like I had on my previous explorer.{look cleaner IMO}Can anyone reccomend a in-channel windo visor?

WD-40 or GooGone will remove the residue.

The stuff must really be thick. I have always used WD-40 with success. If you have it handy, something else that will probably work is Bug and Tar Remover.

I got the vent visors from Weathertech. Both the front and rears for my Screw are in-channel, however the rears do have some type of adhesive to keep them in the channel.

I don't plan on taking mine off anytime soon, but I am concerned about that adhesive in that channel.

Other than that, I love my vent visors. Cheap, easy to install, and look good.
