Unhappy Fixing scratches

I just noticed a scratch in the side of my truck today and I'm looking for the best way to fix it. It's about twelve inches long and kind of deep. I do have some touch up paint from a body shop. 98 F-150XL,4.2,ext cab, longbed, pacific green,Leer cap

I've delt with a number of scratches on my truck. First, I use touch up-paint to cover the scratch. Then I take a very fine sand paper and sand it down level with the rest of the paint. Then I use GS27 scratch remover (Available at KMart) on the sandpaper scratches and this works out very well. Of course you can take further steps and do some clear-coat work but I dont know anything about that. GS27 can also come in a kit that has some chalk-type stuff for deeper scratches.

Hey!thanks for the reply. I stopped by the bodyshop on my way home and they fixed it. It was not as bad as I thought. they just rubbed some compound on it. You really have to look for it to see it.
