How is da usefull

I have a Makita polisher that I use on a regular basis with good success, but was wondering what is the difference between this and the DA you guys often chat about.
Also would like tips on how to use a DA.

There's less of a chance to burn through your clear.

A rotary works a lot faster, though, which is good if you are a pro since you can get more cars done. Also, I hear you can only really burnish/jewel paint with a rotary....

Before I jump to any conclusions, is your "Makita polisher" a rotary buffer or a random orbit polisher? There's a big difference there.

I'm sure I could burn through some clear with a Flex

Granted, he's probably referring to the G110/100 type of DA.

I want a Flex...it probably won't happen for a LONG time though since my G100A is still going strong, which would be replaced for free.

there are plenty of reasons to have both a DA and a Flex ..

if you don't want to spend the money, that is one thing and is understandable, but the two tools have very little overlap, and you would use them both if you had them.

I actually have 2 DA's. A Flex DA, and 2 rotaries. I use them all, sometimes on the same vehicle.

X2

The Flex has one backing plate size so it's limited to the areas you can use it in unless you start angling the pad and in my arsenal it's the big gun or my fast tool if I have the space. I also have a G110 and a G110V2 and they get used more often than the Flex because sometimes I just dont need the torque...or the weight to get the job done.

After you correct your paint and properly take care of it, there is no need for continual aggressive methods IMHO.

I have a Flex and a G110 also. I'm going to use my G110 more now for the smaller pads in smaller areas.

I'll just have to see about it I guess down the road after I get some other stuff taken care of. I keep seeing things about the Flex, and I wish I had it! lol

X3....have the same number of machines. Like OldDogg, I use my DA with 3" pads and my Flex for 98% of the work and my two rotarys's, well they are there for JIC.
