Talking I finally did it...a power buffer!!!

Hey all...I finally went all the way. I called up Meguiar's and ordered the full tilt detail package that includes a Porter-Cable made buffer that retails for around $210. The whole package cost me around $260 and included about 10 different products, four terry towels, brushes, wash mitt, etc. I think it's a really good deal (if you're kinda demented like me). It should be here in a few days, and I'll let you know how the results come out!

I bought the same unit about 2 years ago for my detailing business, it's been very reliable and I do 1 to 3 cars a week.
I bought it from the warehouse that supplies my polishes and waxes.

Triton: Buffers range in price from around $50 to the $200+ model I bought. There may be some higher priced professional models, but I don't know about them. Meguiars also has a package for around $100 which includes a buffer called Waxmaster (you can get those at Pep Boys as well). It's a good deal in that they supply you with a LOT of products for almost nothing. Sears Craftsman brand also has a buffer, but I have heard some negative comments abou them. Not to slam anyone that has a Waxmaster, but I really believe you get what you pay for, and as Indyfan said above, it has been very reliable. Porter-Cable has been in business making tools for almost 100 years, so I think they know their stuff!

Try checking out the Meguiars website: www.meguiars.com or give them a call. The guys there will yak with you about polish all day long!

Good luck!
