Question Acid Rain Damage?

Every since I have had my truck I have had problems with the paint on the top and hood spotting terribly. When I say "spotting" I mean etching-water spots eat into the paint and can only be removed by buffing. How much "buffing" can my paint take. The dealer has buffed it with compound twice, and I have done it myself twice. The truck is only 3 and a half years old. I looked at the paint under a gas-station canopy the other night and it looks terrible. I wash it once a week, and wax every three months. BTW-I have a camper shell on the truck and it has NO PROBLEM at all. Does anyone know anything about a paint defect. My truck is a 96', but I was wondering if anyone with a newer truck had a problem. The color is Toreador Red CC. Any suggestions??

Depends where you live. I'm in the Northeast, and I've personally measured rain ph's down to 4.0. That's like vinegar. Certainly not good stuff for your paint.
