I just bought one of those "California Water Blade" thingies that I saw on Shade Tree Mechanic a week or so ago. A silacone squeegie type thing for $20.00. It is great for removing all the water. I like it. Best thing I have ever used. Try one!

RainX makes a sort of compound that will remove anything from the glass. Then You apply rainX to it. I do this about twice a year and water spots rub right off with a wet towel.
