Weatherstripping protectant
Does anyone know what is a good protectant to put on the black weatherstripping around the windows and doors? I used armour-all before but it all turns white and looks like it does more harm than good. Thanks.

Gino, Armour All stinks. Don't use it. It's water soluble and even dries out what its supposed to protect. Use Silicone spray or glycerine. They're esters and not water soluble and add life to all rubber products, that get used above the belt.. :-)
I use a product called 303 protectant. I bought it when I got my tonneau cover. It was recommended right on the label of the cover (must be made by the same company), but it relly works good.

Gino,
I bought 303 from my local boat shop. They had to order it. It was $20.00 for a 24oz spray bottle. I think it works well and is not greasy but tends to get slightly white and chalky over time (3-4 weeks on the air bag).

I've been using silicone grease on weatherstripping for years. In SoCal the ozone is so bad that relatively new cars have cracked weatherstripping. A company rep from a weatherstripping mfg told me to use the silicone grease years ago. I apply the stuff with my fingers, rub it in and let it sit overnight, and remove it the next day. After 5 years on a Corvette, the weatherstripping was perfect. Great results.
