Post Clay Magic???...

I've heard of this clay magic stuff working wonders. Any testimonies to this? Does it really lift contaminants off the surface for a stunning shine. I tried to buy some, but can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions and info? I've looked at walmart, kmart, kragen, and grand auto.

I'd tell you to do a search, but I've found that it sometimes works and sometimes dont. So look for some post like best wax to use or something like that. There's mention of clay magic there.

Clay, as a substance, does work to remove oxidized paint form a car. California Gold, I believe sells a kit with the clay, the applicator and a host of other products for your car.

I've been using Clay Magic for a couple of years and have used "body shop clay" (basically the same stuff)for a few years before that. It does work very well. It will make your paint feel smooth as glass. Just remember to wax your vehicle after!. The Clay Magic has a larger piece of clay than California Gold. Remember, if you drop it on the ground it's ruined as the dirt will embed itself in the clay and you know what would happen next - big time scratches. The cleaner your vehicle is before you start, the longer the clay will last. I usually will use it every 2-3 months.

I just used Clay Magic this afternoon and this is good stuff. I got it from my local auto parts store. They had two grades. I bought the finest grade, figuring it would do the least harm if I screwed up. I also bought the Lubri Shine spray.

All you have to do is wash and dry the truck, spray the Lubri Shine on a 2 or 3 foot square area and go at it with the wad of Clay Magic. I noticed that I could feel it picking up the bumps (I had some paint spray on the hood).

Wiped the Lubri Shine off and was amazed at how smooth and shiny the paint looked. I waxed it right after... I ran my fingernail over the paint and it was absolutely smooth.

Clay magic does work, here's how to use it:

First, be sure to get the BLUE BAR or "fine grade"...not the red bar "medium grade". Even though both say that they are clearcoat
safe, the red bar can leave a haze on the car from scratches due to it's abrasives. Always use the supplied lubricant or a heavily prepared wash solution to keep things well lubed while claying. Always rewash the car, preferably with dish detergent (Only after claying or for wax removal) to clean the surface after claying.
