Window rattle & door "clunk"
I've got a rattle in the drivers window mainly over slightly rough surfaces like city streets and closely spaced expansion joints. I say it's the window because if I tap the power window button to move the window down just a very small amount, the rattle seems to stop. The dealer has replaced the lock actuator arm and the door panel light cover - both to no avail. Anybody else have a rattle like this?
Also, since they changed the lock actuator I notice a "clunk" sound (kind of when you let your foot of the edge of the brake pedal just before it's reached the top of it's travel) coming from the door. Anybody have this one either?
Thanks

Did they do the simple things, like shaking the mechanism to see if it's loose? Years past I found windows track not bolted in, a vicegrips in the door, a couple of spare bolts in there, all in different vehicles. Get the door panel off and start looking around in there, if you are sure that it's coming from the door. Good Luck
Update on my rattle. Took the truck to the dealer today. Heard the rattle all the way to work and to the shop. Had to go down and ride with the technician because they couldn't hear the noise. While riding with him I couldn't hear it either. He mentioned that it might be a clip on the inside of the door panel touching the window when it's fully closed since the window causes the door to push out when it reaches the top of it's travel. Seems like the window would then be moving closer to the door frame and ultimately making contact with the clip. Since they couldn't hear the noise I would have to pay to take off the door panel, etc. I told them I'd wait till it happened again and bring it back in. Two things: 1) I also mentioned the "bulging" of the door frame when the window finishes it's upward travel and the service writer told me that's normal. 2) I mentioned the same thing to the technician and said it concerned me because the 3 used trucks on their lot that I looked at all had the infamous "door crack" and he simply said that's they way it works and with the door panel off it bulges the interior of the door very noticeably as well. His comment was "That's a manufacturing issue and there's nothing we can do to adjust the way the window closes."

CannonBall,
I had the same problem. It turned out to be the side mirror rattling when I rode down the street on bumps. I told the dealer that it goes away when I have the window down a little and he said that it has something to do witht the resonance of the sound. Anyway, the problem went away after they fixed the mirror.
Hoped that help.
