scratch help
Can anyone please help me figure out what I need to do to take care of this scratch? I was moving a metal futon frame during wet snow and the one end of the frame slid and fell apart and out of my truck. I also have the touch up pen if that helps at all.
I have some 3M rubbing compound too. Should I try that first?
You can try that. You'll need a buffer. Very unlikely you can get that out by hand. Good luck, it appears that it is only in the clearcoat.
Your gonna have to put alot of elbow grease into that. I have had worse done to my truck and been able to get it out by hand. I did use a rubbing compound , I forgot what brand. It helped a lil. I wouldn't use to much because you have a color truck where you might see the swirl marks left by the compound. I would try the wax 1st. It should get at least 50% of it out

If anything can do it, safely and by hand, the new Meguiars Rubbing Compound can.

Start with something less aggressive. In this case I'd bump it up to Ultimate Compound. Try 3-4 applications and see where that leaves you.
If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail it is not going to come out completely but it will look better.

I just used the new compound on some brush scratches on my door, and I was amazed. Stuff is completely safe and works better than Ultimate Compound. Use a microfiber applicator and do not use heavy pressure.

I can definitely feel it with my fingernail but all I want to do is make it look better. I am a contractor and I have only had the truck for a year and a half, so I'm lucky that I don't have a lot more than a few scratches on my truck.
