Step bar "foot pads"

What can I use on the "foot pads" on my chrome step bars to keep them shiny black, but not slippery?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

I don't think you're gonna have much luck in finding something that's not slippery or greasy.

About the only thing I do to mine are give them a squirt with APC and hit them with a stiff bristle brush when I wash my truck. Most of the dressing on the market are going to make the step pads slippery.

If it helps I got a can of Hercules bed liner & mixed it with play sand. Been on my steps for about 2 years now & still shiny.

Megs Ultimate Protectant is supposed to not feel greasy and not run in the rain. Maybe it won't be as slippery as others? I know my friend likes the look of it on his Beemer's dash.

Try putting some "grip tape" on the part you step on to and dress the rest of the pad.

Adam's In & Out spray is the best thing I have ever seen for the steps, but they stopped making it, and changed the formula due to VOC regs ..

I have not tried the new stuff .. the Chemical Guys Back 2 Black spray was supposed to be the same thing, but I am nowhere near as happy with it, and the CG stuff is slippery.. the Adam's is not.

I use a light coat of 303 protectant and let it sit for 10 min. Then wipe off excess with a microfiber cloth. Stays black/not slippery... I have gone overboard and coated the cr@p out of them and they are like a greased pig.
