Rusty Paint Resolution

Two weeks ago, I changed out the front brakes, and had to wire wheel rust off the hubs. I didn't realize/think about the dust landing back on the truck, but a couple days later, after a drizzly rain, this is what I found:

It felt about like 600 or 400-grit sandpaper!

I didn't have time to do a full-out detail, but wanted to get this crap out of the paint before it did permanent damage, so I skipped using the high-speed buffer and scratch remover. I used the Mother's clay bar (which STILL amazes me every time I use it), and a couple of "leftover" detailers for lube. Finish coat was liquid NuFinish, as it seems to work better than others in cool weather. I think it turned out pretty good for a "quick" job.

looks good, good thing you got that rust off before it done some real damage

Thanks. It has it's share of nicks, scratches and boo-boos, but not bad for a 10 y/o truck with 220K on it.
Looks like you keep yours up even better. Nice color, and I like the PTM valence.
I wonder how that would look on mine (silver)..... Trouble is, it's chewed up and would need replaced fir$t.

Oh, I discovered today that my wife's Escape got the same "rust-dust" treatment. I just didn't notice it until I ran my fingers over it, as it's champagne-gold in color. Guess her's is next!
