Help w/swirls/marring on my black Jeep

I bought a '09 Jeep Wrangler a couple of weeks ago. I noticed under my halogens there are light swirls and marring. I used Optimum Polish with a white LC pad and it didn't seem to help. I just got a bottle of 105 and 205 from ADS along with a Purple Foam Wool Pad. Should I start with the 105 or 205 with the wool? Would it be better to use 105 with a white pad? I will be using a pc. I forgot what a PITA a black vehicle is. So far I love the Jeep. I just put a lift on last weekend. Looks much better now. The guys over at the Jeep forum are not really into detailing and swirl removal.

205 with a wool pad seems odd. Haha. That's an aggressive pad for such a mild polish. Is Jeep paint typically hard? Anyone know? Try 205 on the white pad. I don't know how it compares to Optimum Polish but it's what i would try on light swirls given what you have. You should be able to work the 205 as long as it doesn't dry out on you since it uses non diminishing abrasives.

Start with 205 on the white pad. If that's not getting everything out, try 105 on the white pad. This should take care of it if they are truly light swirls. You shouldn't need the PFW.

Which Jeep forum?

I just tried the 205 and white pad. It worked great. I'm impressed with the 205. I only did the hood to test it out. I will finish up this weekend and top it with RMG and Moose Wax

I'm on the jk-forum
