Step Rails.

I have side step rails on my 03 screw. They are chrome, i'm assuming i really have no idea.

Anyways, they have some minor surface swirls/scratches that seem to be getting progressively worse. Would a chrome polish, #105, or any other of my paint correction products help with this problem?

Also, i'm having the same problem with my stainless steel exhaust tips. Any luck there as well?

Thanks guys,
B

The Diamond Brite truck box polish you can get at Lowe's does a great job on stainless exhaust tips. It's in the same aisle as the truck toolboxes and aluminum ladders.

I've got some Adams Metal Polishes, #s 1 and 2 if you want to give those a try.

They're probably either chrome or polished stainless. More than likely chrome.

I really like Adam's Metal Polishes. 105 is supposed to be good to polish metal. I'm not sure if it's only for certain kinds though or not. I don't know how abrasive I would go. If it's chrome plating, who knows how good the plating is. What else do you have on hand? Poorboy's Professional Polish is supposed to work as well.

I may give you a shout about that if what i got dosn't work. What year are you btw? I'll be at state next year.

And as to the question about what i have on hand, i have some Meg's chrome polish, 105, 205, along with some eagle 1 'all metal polish' (that was one of the first items i ever bough haha.

I'm gonna try the megs chrome polish, then the metal polish, and #105 if neither of those cut it. Ill probably pick that truck box polish as well for the tips, if what i have dosn't work.

They really arent all that bad to non-ocd people. But i notice them, and it drives me crazy. Any improvement would help. haha

If the tips are pretty rough looking, use some metal polish with #0000 steel wool. And then hit it again without the wool and just a towel. I just did this on my aluminum wheels and it worked great.

The truck box polish is supposed to work real well used with a mini powerball.

You may also want to check out Obsessive Details Metal RX I used it on my stainless grill this past weekend and got some awesome results with it.
