Winter rim problem

Hay all you experts in the care & detailing world, I have a question/problem for you to help me solve (if it can be). I took my wheels and rims off last october before too much salt and sand was put down for the winter. When I took them off I washed them using meguires gold class wash and then dried them using a micro-fiber towel. When I went to put them on this weekend, hoping that winter is over, I noticed that there was some streaking and pitting on them. I a at a loss as to if they can be repaired or at least cleaned to reduce the streaking. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I usually avoid chrome wheels. Mine are polished and I'm thinking twice about those now as well. I left mine on all winter like a jackass and didn't get many opportunities to even clean them.

Chrome polish may be able to get rid of the streaking. The pitting you may have to live with.
