My plan. Suggestions Welcome

My trucks paint is in good condition with some minor swirling. But I am going to do a good full interior and exterior detail.

Heres my plan

1. Wash using 2 bucket method/ Meguiar's NXT Generation Car Wash
2. Dry using Meguiar's water magnet drying towel
3. Claybar using Meguiars smooth surface clay kit
4. Wax using Meguiars NXT 2.0
5. Polish bumpers, wheels and rail cap using Meguiars NXT generation tech metal polish.
6. Shine tires and wheel wells

Interior

1. Vaccum
2. Clean windows
3. Clean dash
4. Apply Meguiars surpreme shine protectant to dash and all panels

Any Suggestions??

If you wheels are clearcoated you dont want to use metal polish on em... Everything else sounds good!

Do you own a Polisher? or do you do your work by hand?

Well, I'm assuming you're doing this by hand and you want to buy products locally. Meguiars has some new products for 2009 that are intended to be used by hand. Depending on how bad the swirls are, you might be able to get away with using SwirlX but if SwirlX isn't enough the new version of ScratchX, ScratchX 2.0 should make an improvement. Just try and get the ScratchX 2.0 and not the original although even the original will make an improvement. This step should be done after claying and before waxing. If you see it's making an improvement but you want to make it better, you can always go another round with the SwirlX or ScratchX 2.0. Just know that it's not like a wax. It involves working the product in to the paint and not just spreading it around. You'll want to work small areas at a time. Usually 2'x2' areas. Do a test spot first and make sure you're accomplishing something. Use some blue painters masking tape and lay a strip down and polish up to it with the SwirlX or ScratchX 2.0. Wipe it clean and remove the type and try to look at it in directly in the light to see the difference you've made.

Ok thanks, yeah I'm doing all of it by hand. My swirls aren't that bad at all. So I will probably be able to get about with SwirlX.

I've got one question on my visor it was painted to match and now the clearcoat is starting to fade and chip off, is there anything I can do to make it look better?
