g110 pad size

why does ADS give you 7" pads with the g110 but right on it it says 5.5" only? the bigger the pad the faster the outer edge spins, therefore it could be spinning faster then you want it to if just by following instructions on a bottle....

Does it say 5.5" pads or just 5.5"?

It's probably talking about the backing plate.

I'd guess, like MOford21, that the 5.5" is the size of the backing plate. That said, larger pads are harder on the machine. The added weight and contact area of the pads make it harder to spin. That's why a lot of people will recommend smaller pads like the 5.5" or even the 4" pads which is what I use.

Also bear in mind that when using larger pads in addition to putting more load on the motor, you're going to get less overall performance. The machine has a certain amount of power and that power is getting spread over a much larger area. So say you're trying to get a scratch out, a 4" pad will be much more effective than a 7.5". Use the appropriate size and foam type for the job you're doing. Personally I like using the larger pads for applying wax since it speeds up the process.
