Probably a couple more pads. If you've never clayed your truck before you definitely need some clay too.

I haven't used it or heard a lot about it but apparently 105 is some pretty great stuff also.

There were a few threads recently about people first starting off. Probably on page 1 or 2 of this section. There might be information useful to you in there. That said...

Keeping it under $200 is going to be tough since the DA kit is already $150. I highly recommend HD and APC but do yourself a favor and get the gallon jugs. Either way, you'll need an extra bottle and spray head to go with them because you'll need a place to mix your first one. You can replace 80 with 205. 205 is more expensive but more versatile. 205 has super micro abrasive technology where 80 has diminishing abrasives. I don't know what kind of condition your paint is in. You may need something more than 80 and 205. If that's the case, to limit the amount you spend, I'd get the new 105 formulated for the DA. Since you're so close, you can probably get away with the sampler sizes to see if it's what you want. It'll be cheaper that way. For most of us who aren't that close, we only want to pay shipping as necessary.
DA kit 2 $150.
Sampler of 205 is $12
105 is $10.
Gallon APC+ is $15.
Gallon of HD is $34.
Addtl HD bottle is $ 1.50.
Addtl APC+ bottle $ 1.50.
2 sprayer heads $ 2.50.

Total - 226.50 plus local tax.

It's a little more than you want to spend but it'll get the job done.

Edit - I don't know how I missed clay. I always assume it's a given and it's not. You'll definitely need clay. You said you have over the counter stuff already. I don't know what you have and don't so I'll just recommend the Smooth Surface Clay kit since it'll come with Quik Detailer for use as a lube plus an MF. $16. And you can never have too many MFs.

Will you post on your experience with this once you get it and give it a try?

I too, am getting ready to start detailing a little more seriously. I just got this email:

PC DVD Order Confirmation

Robert,
Your order will ship out tomorrow morning via USPS Priority Mail Service.

Thank you,

i have clay....wait no i had clay i tossed it last time i believe...ill have to check

so i would need both 105 and 205? or just the 205? 205 is the new 105 correct?

o and he has a minimum $75 purchase for local pick up...im sure he would be flexible on that though

I think 205 is a less aggressive polish/compound than 105. It's supposed to be used after 105, though, at least with a Flex, I've found 105 to finish practically to be LSP-ready.

Yeah I stumbled upon the new site through the old one. I saw a link to a product that was only available on the new site. It's a much nicer site though.

Correct on the 105/205. They both use Super Micro Abrasive Technology but 105 is techinically a compound and should be treated as one. I don't know if you NEED it or not. It depends on the condition of your paint. If 205 isn't enough then 105 is a good direction to go in. However, 105 doesn't always finish great. You may get some hazing. In this case, you need to follow 105 with 205.

Did I miss something? I don't think the $75 minimum is going to be an issue if you're already spending $150 just on the DA kit #2.

I really would have gotten the gallon of HD. But in all honesty, I picked up the 32 my first time too. It comes filled to the top with concenrated HD just so you're aware. Which means you need to find somewhere to go with the rest of it so you actually have room for the water to mix it.
