Removing Brush Lines...

What is the best and easiest to use by hand product to remove small brush lines / scratches from the paint? I used the truck brush at the FD a few times last winter on my truck since I didn't have my wash mitt and I can see the lines or marks in the Dark Blue Pearl paint and it is driving me nuts.

Thanks for the help.

Depends how bad they are. The new ScratchX 2.0 should work well. If you need some stronger Meg's Ultimate Compound. SwirlX is a new product as well but it's the least aggressive of the three. If I was only going to choose one to try it'd probably be the ScratchX 2.0. If you want to make sure you're only removing as much clear as possible, then pick up the SwirlX as well if you can find it and give that a shot first. If it works, great. If it doesn't, use the ScratchX 2.0. If you find even multiple passes isn't getting the job done then try Ultimte Compound. All utilize Meg's new Super Micro Abrasive Technology and are Consumer line products which mean the're generally available in local stores like Advanced Auto and Wal-Mart. Keep in mind not all stores carry the same stuff though.

I am with esf and suggest trying Swirl X. You may find it take the majority of the marks out but there are still some bigger ones left behind. You could then hit the bigger ones with Scratch X 2.0 . If the Swirls X isn't working you could use the SX2.0 everywhere then.

Just a few pointers. Both products are brand new 2009 products so they may be hard to find in stores if you go and look tomorrow since shipments to store just went out. Also when you test them out, do a test spot and evaluate from there what you need to do rather than doing the car and evaluating (test spot can be about a square foot) Also make sure if you are going to Scratch X to get Scratch X 2.0 and not just Scratch X.

2.0 is a new reformulated version and works much differently than the original.

Let us know how it comes along and stay away from those brushes
