Wiper Cowl Ends get gummy

I searched for this and nothing popped up. Probably cause I am calling it the wrong thing. Found posts about them cracking, but not "dissolving".

On the 04-08, the wiper cowl (the vented piece between windshield and hood) has 2 pieces on either end.

Well, out of the blue, mine are gummy. Thought it was road grime, so I hit it with some soap and water. No matter what I do its still gummy to the touch and all that comes off is a black residue.

Anyone else had this? If so, how can you fix and ultimately, how do you prevent?

Is your truck used or did you put something on it like detailer or tire dressing.

www.cowlends.com, $14.49 a pair and free shipping. We are a paid sponsor and you should see our ads running in the 04-08 section and on your mobile site.

You bumped up a 6 year old thread to advertise your product? I don't see "Sponsor" under your username.

I am a paid sponsor with internet brands and they are running half my ads on this forum and half on another. I have to set up a new username to put "sponsor" under it but haven't gotten around to it. I was told I could respond to questions about my product and provide my company's contact info. Sorry, I didn't notice the age of the thread, only that the member's needs weren't met or his question answered, so thought i would post a solution. I promise I will follow up with IB and get my name fixed, should have done it before I posted!
