I do have a set of them and they do work for cleaning up spills around the house but I would NEVER use them on my truck.

I'm amused by this thread... especially that someone found a picture of that troll-looking man... LMAO!

The ShamWow falls into the same category as Communism... it sounds good by theory.

"olympic divers use it to dry off"

"it's made by the germans. germans make good stuff"

"you're gonna spend $20 on paper towels anyways"

that commercial is always good for a chuckle.

Heck I had a detail shop put ghetto slime on my running boards one time and I almost broke my neck getting into the truck...

I would not recommend using a chamois to dry .. as it has no nap, and the potential to introduce defects to the paint is pretty high.

Same comment on washing with the sponge .. I would recommend using a good, high quality lambs wool mitt for washing, and some nice Waffle Weave microfiber towels for drying, after using a hose to sheet the water off.

just my unsolicited $0.02

Disagreed there but, this is definitely not one that I'd use on my vehicle...

The Hercules Hook works unbelievably well... They're primarily scam items but, not all of them.

The way that the "As Seen On TV" folks work is to buy up little patent ideas from private people and try to turn a profit on them. They've been HUGELY successful in doing this (using Chinese labor/manufacturing). Remember all those goofy commercials that talked about helping an individual get a patent that were on TV? I personally think that the ASOTV guys were probably standing back there somewhere waiting for 'real' ideas that appeared to be great... My wife swears by that Ped Egg thing...

I agree completely- and because of that product, I no longer see $30+ dollar pedicures appearing on my bank statements each month
