3 Hours spent washing - WASTED!!

So I just had my 18x9 XD Monsters and 33" Nitto TGs put on yesterday. I got home, ate, and decided it was time to give the truck a nice bath. I spent about 3 hours and had it looking great! About 10pm I finished up, and crawled into bed. I was spent.

I roll out of bed to let the dog out at 6am today and whaddya know - it friggin rained overnight!!

So I drive my 3 miles to work on the wet roads thinking that as long as I stay away from puddles and standing water I should be ok...just a little sprinkle should be fine.

WRONG! The new, bigger than stock tires slang all the road dirt and grime all up and down the sides of the truck.

So now that my rant is over...I want the truck to be looking good for tonight - I have a few parties to go to and I want to show the new shoes off but not looking like it does now. If I were to spray it down with a pressure washer back in my detail shop here at work would I be able to QD it, or do I need to give it another full bath again? Ideally, timewise, I would hope the QD path would work but I think that it just may be to filthy to do that.

Any advice is well appreciated!

That is dirt stuck on the paint. QD will just scratch it in my opinion. Sorry, I would rewash.

Wash it to be safe. On the bright side, at least you got to see it completely clean and dry for a bit. Usually when I'm drying the last wheel, it starts raining...

Yeah, I totally understand your frustration. I have the same problem with the wider tires on mine. We put up with splatter, rougher ride and poor gas mileage just to get a look we like!

I think the QD is more for just dust on the surface, but I have never really liked the concept.

so what can you do to prevent this? I was thinking some fender flares, like the EGRs, mudflaps - which I don't want to do, I don't like the look.

Only thing is those EGRs are $300 shipped! That's a lot of jack to drop to keep splatter off my truck!

x3. QD's are commonly misused and, because of that, problems are introduced into the paint (straight line scratching, swirls, etc).

I don't know. I just grin and bear it, and keep enjoying how great I think my truck looks when it's clean, with the new wheels and tires.

I have fender flares and depending on how wet the road is I still get the road grime thrown all over the side of my truck. Today I drove the long way between the store and my house simply because I didn't want to drive over a portion of the road that was wetted from a sprinkler system. Is that bad?

How could that be bad? Sounds pretty smart to me!

my truck is HORRIBLE at this. The tires stick out a good 2-3" past the fenders and honestly driving through the smallest puddle will sling it up to the window.

but I love the look hah
