Yea, I was a little worried there too, but the owner had already removed a good deal of it before I got started - with no ill effects. I wouldn't recommend this as standard practice though. On the bright side, Brake Parts Cleaner is nowhere near as hot of a solvent as Acetone or Lacquer Thinner - which would damage the paint.
