Don't assume right away you need a DA to do this. I have only been at this detailing the "proper" way for about a year now (thanks to this forum) and still don't have a DA. I'm 16 and starting to do a few customer cars a week. Granted, if the holograms are extremely bad, you probably can't get them out by hand. But I have made some pretty bad swirling disappear with the right pads and product and some patience.

Lots of locals in your area, though - they are some of the best I know and reading their posts has taught me the majority of what I know

Is there a product that could mask or cover up the holograms until i have enough time to fix and remove them? Ill try and get pictures, but my truck got dirty this week. I think i heard something on the news about some dust from the Sahara desert?

This is where the "fail" term might come into play. It looks worse in person. Promise.

If they aren't too bad, #9 will hide them.

I was cleaning my garage, and I found an Craftsman 7" random orbital buffer/polisher. Can I use that for application, or would that be bad?

those are great for applying wax and such; however, they simply dont have enough speed to really make it worth using. They arent fast enough to break stuff down or heat it up to the level of correction that you want. However, it can be done. It is a VERY finicky process, but you *can* use the right combination of pads/bonnets/products to get the results you desire.

I did a detail once with a similar buffer and a wool bonnet plus DC1... It worked like a champ. But, I will not do it again. That was in a pinch, and I bet a lot of what I did was conceal...

i dont mind concealing it or covering it up until I have time to meet up with one of yall to show/teach me the right way. if using the polisher, what kind of bonnet and local product might be able to give me a temporary fix. Im tired of seeing holograms at 5 or 6 at night when I get off work and i am walking to my truck. when the light hits it just right its pretty noticable. would scratch-x and a wool bonnet work. I really have no clue about bonnets and wax and polishes. I bought that buffer a while back, but never used it and forgot about it. i dont remember what I paid for it. Probably not much. haha

Personally, I don't trust them, especially the bonnets.
