I agree. There really is no point to the numbers other than simplifying the product name. I just think it makes it too easy for someone to misunderstand which product you're talking about, easier for miscommunication. At least their customer service makes up for it. I just had Meguiars mail me out a bunch of new pads due to them coming apart ... Brad, have you ever had that problem?

I have... and they have.

As I understand it, they've had a quality problem or three with their manufac on them... they were going to a different glue to hold the backing on (I think it was a lower VOC glue) and, while they worked great for a few spins, they started coming apart.

I think they've worked through that issue but, that's not to say that some didn't make it in to the field...

Thanks everyone. I'm going to top it with Optimum Opti-Seal today.

I'm glad you liked DWG. You'll like Opti-Seal too, just remember a little goes a LONG way.

This comment is from a rank amateur - please accept it from that standpoint.

If you are having issues with swirl removal, why not try using *consumer* grade Megs NXT 2.0 as your sealer? It's got some decent light polishes and fillers in it. Then you can top it with your LSP of choice.

Yes, I know I push NXT a lot here - it's because I use it, it gives *me* great results, it's available over the counter everywhere, and it's very easy to use.

I'm not trying to reopen the debate between products and techniques here - but I do feel that there are some products in consumer lines that are winners, sometimes I think some people here tend to look down their noses at anything that's not made for professionals and only sold through those kind of outlets.

NXT, in all honesty, is accepted within the detailing circles as a decent product... even better, as a consumer-based product, lots of folks really think highly of it.

While most of my client vehicles get something else, there are a few that have left with NXT... I had one client that I used it on call me about 2 weeks ago and tell me that he wanted to bring his VW back in to me but, he didn't think he needed to because the paint was still beading up really nice (thus, he thought that there wasn't a need)... mind you, I did his Pssat about 5 months ago in late Feb. It's held up well, I guess....

You mean naming products such that the numbers in no way correlate to the order to use them or anything else for that matter wasnt a good idea?

No freaking joke... From what I can tell, the only line of theirs that made sense was the DC system (ie: DC1 was the cleaner, DC2 was the polish, DC3 was the wax)...

Also, in answer to glc's post-- a LOT of my clients get NXT, NXT 2.0, or Synwax... The top shelf margaritas are reserved for the higher-dollar details....

And lastly, Sleestak-- should you decide to sell/trade off any more goodies, PLEASE let me know... At least until September...

After reading many reviews on both the Danase Wet Glaze and Opti Seal I went ahead and ordered them both tonight. Really looking forward to receiving these two products and giving them a try on my black truck. After seeing the results on the OP's white truck I can only imagine how they're going to make a black truck look. Once I get them and use them I will post up my review.
