Foam gun and rinsing?

I am placing an order here shortly and was thinking about picking up a foam gun. My question is, what do you do for rinsing? Doesn't it get to be a pain in the *** to keep switching back and forth between the foam gun and your regular nozzle? Is there a trick to it? My only option is to wash in direct sunlight, leaving soap on the vehicle longer than necessary isn't really an option. I like to rinse after every panel or two. I imagine you can use quick disconnects but my experience with those on pressure washers has been that over a little bit of time it seizes up and leaks.

You can adjust the nossel to spray only water... but i still switch to the regular hose. The foam gun just dosnt have the power to really rinse good (At least not at my place, my water pressure SUCKS) Just get a cut off nossel for the end of your hose so you dont have to knot up the line when switching back and forth.

The foam gun comes with quick disconnects on it. I just pop of the gun part and use the nozzle that it came with.

Exactly. Just pull the quick disconnect back and pull the foam wand/canister away from you. It's so easy. I was worried about this very thing when I was considering it. It's easy to work, trust me. This is my procedure for using the foam gun before anyone asks ...

Two Bucket Wash. One with soap/water. One with clean water for rinsing my mitt. I put my "paint" mitt in the soap/water while I spray down the top half of my car; roof, hood, windows, and trunk. I will wash that with my mitt than rinse it out in the clean bucket. Rinse it with clean water from the hose. Than, follow the same procedure for the sides and than the front and rear. After the paint is finished, I clean my "paint" mitt out and put it in it's baggy. Than I do the wheels, tires, and fenders. Than onto drying but that's another thread.

Hmm... Going to have to let this one fester for a day and place my order tomorrow. I really like my fire hose nozzle. I don't know if I want to give that up for the foam gun. Especially when the two bucket method works just find. I just kind of like the novelty of the foam gun.

Order from AutoGeek.net and buy some DP Xtreme Foam. It's expensive but you'll love it !! It's hard to spend $60 on a gallon of soap, trust me, but it's by far the best thing I've ever tried. It's got so much lubrication that it's insane. I want to try Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds in the foam gun though. I hear it's awesome as well. Try that out if you don't want to spend so much money on the DP Xtreme Foam.

I use the fireman's nozzle to do my intial rinse since it has a better spray pattern, and more pressure. Then I turn the hose off and put my Gilmour on.

Then I go about the wash, and as other mentioned utilize the quick disconnect as I go to do rinsing off of the soap.

Depending on the heat/sun, I sometimes switch back to the fireman's nozzle for my final rinse as well.
