Some questions..

Alright, I have been reading around here and trying to figure out what I need to do.. I have always kept everything extremely clean and waxed about every 4 months, usually two coats. I have never done anymore than that because I have no knowledge on how it is done or the best way to do it. I am learning from this but just wanted to see some more from yall.
I have a white truck with a gray bottom. There are swirls in the paint which aren't very noticeable because of color but definitely need to be taken out of the whole truck. Does that mean I use the SSR1?
Bigger scratches can be filled in with touch up paint? Yes or no? (Such as on front bumper from rock)
After removing the swirls, do I just wax? I usually use NXT. Any other suggestions?

Welcome to the C/D section. Where every post is taken seriously.

That being said....since you are in Texas I won't dog pile you completely. This is what I would do, please read the sticky then the detail dictionary.

SSR1 is a product by Poorboys, Super Swirl Remover and 1 being its the least aggressive of the 4 offered.

That also being said, it will make much more sense to you after you read the sticky.

So that leads me to this question back for you. You want your truck to look better, how much are you willing to put into the care of it? 100? 200? 500? With anything as you probably already know, use the right tools and get the right results. Doing it by hand is doable but man it's hard and to be honest, you will NOT get the same results.

You are also very lucky to have one of the largest Poorboys Dists in your home town. Specialty Motoring is a great place to get boutique product lines. Speaking of which, there are many, many great product lines out there. Read from the elders here and you can quickly make up your mind on which path to walk down...as long as you know that you may take other paths along the way.

How's that?

JP

No problem, a lot of folks spend countless hours on this board answering questions and helping folks. That is why the sticky and dictionary exist.

Gotta start somewhere. Find the time.
