Ok, desert detailing...wtf?

i live in albuquerque. got to washing the truck this weekend and noticed that i had literally 1000s of pits on my glass from i'm guessing sand and crap. got to looking at the front end and hood, looks like im up for a paint job also. anyone got any ideas on the best protection? winds are normally 40-60mph at peak. sun is harsh. i got a truck cover, but gonna have to do some modding on there that way it doesn't blow off is the mach 3 weather we're having..

will post up pics later this afternoon.

I think you can put 3m clear bra on the windshield or the stuff is called Venture shield to put on. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

New Mexico is rough, I lived in Socorro for years (80 miles South of Alberquerque). I go to Alb. once in a while as my brother and nephews live up there. A hot, windy day absolutely stinks driving around in.

Oh some fellow NMers , I know what you mean about that wind and sun. Used to have pinstripes on my truck, and when I decided to take them off they had baked into the paint or something. The clear even came up but oh well, it looks way better now.
