Clay bar on wheels

I have some parts of my wheels that have brown specks which I haven't been able to remove with just soap and water and some serious scrubbing with an old wash mitt. I would guess it is brake dust. Is it alright to use a clay bar on the wheels? Would it do any good?

FYI: These are the stock wheels on an '04 Lariat.

Thanks for any help.

Yes those wheels are clear coated just like your paint. So the clay bar will do some good, give it a try.

Yup, however, not sure I would use that clay on the truck surface after using it on the wheels.

That's just me though.
