rear window

my truck was "tagged" i went to clean it today and the paint itself came off but there was an outline of everything on it baked into the glass, scrubbed for atlast 20 minutes with an sos pad and nothing happened... anyone know where I can get a new rear window?

Tagged? Tagged with what? If it's on the glass, have you tried a razor blade with lots of soap and water for lubrication?

Thumper's idea is probably the best yet. A razor blade used properly with good lubrication on the glass will remove the goo that is left behind. Also, simple chemicals like 'Goo Gone' may aid with the adhesive residue if you still have some behind. Another product that will work well on adhesive on glass is WD40 (toluene).

Are you dealing with adhesive leftover?

it was window chalk, i took it through a car ash and the wash had wax in it, so i think thats what sealed it in.... the paint came off but there is and outline of everything still on the window

Okay, scrap all the thoughts that have been mentioned, thusfar, in this thread...

Do you have tint on the window(s) in question and, if so, is the 'window chalk' shadow on the side with or without the tint?

Thusfar, what have you tried? My suspecion is that the 'shadow' that you see is a result of either a waxy material left behind by the chalk or something similar that should be easily stripped off of the non-porus glass.

That said, let's give something with a bit more ooompah a try...
