Black Taco cleaned up

New guy at work found out I detail cars and wanted me to take care of his Toyota Tacoma. Turned out pretty nice - I didn't even know it had a flake in it til I clayed.

Process:

SSR2 on Orange - 4ish
SSR1 on Green - 4.5ish
Pro Polish on W9006 - 5.5
EX-P on blue
Collinite 845

HD, etc. etc. etc....

Scratches either removed or concealed (mostly)

There was a lot of bird poop and bug etching everywhere. Those areas wouldn't come clean. But, for being 13 years old, this Taco wasn't in bad shape.

I didn't even touch the interior - it was already really nice. The engine got the APC+, HD treatment, but it's nothing spectacular to look at.

Frame rails, rear diff, wheel wells, spare tire, hitch, fender flares, mud flaps, etc. etc. got HD.

Edit: forgot one...

LOl thats what I was thinking 03-04. Its the only year they had that grill. 02 it ran horizontally instead of vertically. 05 is the current new body style. So its a 4-5 year old truck...

Still awesome work none the less. In no way am I cutting down the work, just isnt 13.

This is a 13 year old tacoma. 1995:

maybe you're supposed to add the digits in 13 to get the number of years old? I dont know the tacoma body style changes...

I was surprised how nice it came out. So was the owner and his fiance. She told him since it looks so nice he can't get a new truck now.

I ended up going over the stripes anyway. He said he didn't care either way. Didn't have any issues, even where they were peeling a little.

I'd drive it. It's got 130K on the clock and runs/drives/rides better than my truck.

It's pretty darn solid. Every myth I've heard about Tacos being crap was thrown out the door driving and riding in this thing. We took a 100 mi round trip for work the other day and I was amazed.

The interior is very nice for such a cheap, small truck. I like it better than mine - heck, it's still in one piece (my radio buttons have started peeling...29,000 miles. )

Plus he gets 18-19mpg, and the V6 in it is pretty peppy.
