Need help on Products and Porter Cable Pads

Ok I am sure everyone is sick of these posts and they all start out "I am a complete Noob" but here mine goes...
Yes i am completely new to detailing vehicles but i am very interested and am going to go through with detailing some of mine and my parents vehicles (my white f150 and my parents black escalade and lexus) ..... I have read the sticky through a few times and have an idea of what i wll be needing .... O and i am wondering what i should all do because i was thinking about not doing all the steps in the sticky so give me your opinion on which steps to the process i could can if i wanted to...here are the questions.. I found a porter cable da but what pads should i buy.... I have never clayed before so what whould i get so i can't screw it up the first time i do it..... and should i go with all the products listed in the sticky or should i just go specifically with one line and stick to those specific products?.....

Any help would be appreciated.... i know these posts get annoying but i just need a little help getting started because i dont want to dive into this and do something wrong...

What you should or should not do really depends on the condition of the paint so none of us can really help you without seeing it.

I however would suggest some good long reading at these sites.

Yeah, just know that when you get a bunch of very passionate OCD detailers in one spot who all want to share similar info, sometimes there is collision of ideas....

In the end, we are all friends and agree to some degree on methods to achieve similar if not the same results.

There are several ways to clean a Dove....ya know?
