DA Pad Life

I'm going to be putting an order in for some w8006 & w9006 pads tonight and am curious how long the average DA pad lasts (i.e. how many uses).

I may start with just one pad for each product I apply, but if they don't last very long, I may spend a bit more and get 3 or 6 of each.

What's everyone's thoughts?

That's a great question...I'd like to know the answer as well as I'm in the same boat you are.

Though there's a pad cleaner (it basically a large bucket with a grit guard) which probably prolongs the life span of the pads pretty drastically. I'm sure someone can post the link for it, I just don't remember where I saw it. This bucket DA pad cleaner is a little too pricey to justify my buying it. I rather just make my own.

There is no clean cut answer to this questions. It's based on how well you take care of them, how much you use them, etc. I'd get one pad for each product you have plus at least 1 one more of each. Personally I'd go with 2 more of each. This will cover you if you buy new products or a pad gives out on you.

yup, agree with thumper, its all in how you take care of them and how much you use them.

Most folks around here use the Murphys Oil Soap soak method for cleaning pads. It does work well.

Murphys Oil Soap for me too. I don't wash my pads after every use though. I clean them out after use by running the machine on a MF on my hand to remove a lot of the product.
