Whats the best way or product for shining the tires. I like the wet balck look but cant find a product that dries and still looks dark. Also, is there a product that dosent get flung all over the sides of the truck? I ve tried the sprays, foams, gels, and just cant get the finish Im looking for. Great wet black shine without being all over the side of my truck.

 

I have tried just about about all of them and the only one that ive found to be any good is the meguires spray on. It leave a nice wet look, but as for the side spray on to the truck nothing you can do unless u wait 30min for the product to dry. Another way is to pass a rag over the tire to remove the extra shine

 

I kinda figured that. I have wiped it back off with a rag, but kinda irks me as if I dont spend enough time and money already, now Im wiping off what I just applied! Oh well. Thanks

 

I like the Meguiars Hot Shine Spray. I used some the other day and it looks really wet only after 1 application. I let it dry for about half an hour before I drove it. I drove the truck and there was minimal sling. I did realize however what cause the sling. The lettering on the tires is elevated and thus causes bits of the liquid to gather in the lettering (around the corners of the letters) and then when the tire is spinning, it just slings off.

So for next time I figure that I am probably going to apply the Hot Shine and get a towel or my applicator and make sure to soak up any excess in the letters (I could see the smear marks heading towards the outside of the tire from the path the dressing left, and they were all by the lettering, that is how I knew where the problem originated)

If you do that and you want it even more shiny, apply a second coat and just make sure it doesn't get caught again.


You could always use hyperdressing diluted 4:1 and apply multiple coats. I have never used it, but I have heard good things about it.


Wash your truck, apply dressing, then clean windows and interior so you can let the dressing dry.

Hyperdressing is hands down the best tire dressing out there IMO. It always can diluted to achieve the type of look you want. It's $30 a gallon and diluted to the "strongest" ratio, it'll still make two gallons and at the weakest it'd make 5 gallons. Not too bad !!

 

The best I've found is some very cheap-o brand I buy at Wally World - foam spray. After I spray it on, I take a sponge and spread it around all over at the same time it wipes up any excess. Works great

 

What is this wally world spray you speak of? haha what is the name, maybe they have it at big lots or something.

 

Ireally like Stoner's More Shine. I've never had it sling off the tires. Do a once over for a matte look and go over it again for a wet look. But... I do have a gallon of Hyperdressing on order that I should be receiving tomorrow, so we'll see. I'm hoping next weekend is nice so I can play around with some new stuff. I'm so tired of rain.

Not yet, I've been meaning to though. One of these days I'll get some.

 

I've used plain old floor wax for 25 years. Dries nice and dark, seals the rubber so mud washes of easily and about every 3 wash jobs just spray it with Westleys Bleach White (or other strong cleaner, ie: Purple) and it comes right off. Reapply and you're good to go.
If tire stuff doesn't dry it's just a dust magnet!

 

i use black magic titanium gel

 

How do you like that BM gel? I used it and absolutely hated it! I had to use Super Degreaser 4:1 with a scrub brush to get it off!
