1st timer!

I finally bought the Mother's Clay bar kit and I am going to try to do it for the first time. I know there is a lot of stuff on here about doing this, but could anyone give me any quick tips on using this? You know, just some good advice or people's experiences that work best for them before I actually try it.

Your replies are greatly appreciated. You guys are some real experts when it comes to detailing!

1.Cut the bar in half just in case you drop it on the ground you will have a back up. Under no circumstance should you use a piece of clay that has hit the ground.
2.Make sure to use plenty of the quick detailer to keep the surface nice and moist.
3. I have found that working in small sections with a back and forth, up and down motion has worked the best for me. I also sometimes add the diagonal motions too...

Thats all I really have to offer hope it helps and post pics once your done with the detail!

1.have patience....it will pay off in the end.
2.taking pictures is a must!!! so we can see.
3.clean the wheel wells and hyper dress them along with the tires.
4.dont let anyone ride your truck after its detailed because they will leave greasy finger marks on the doors.
5.When you wash it use a blower to save time and get better results.
6. Only use microfiber on your paint
7. Clean the engine bay
8. polish nerf bars and bumpers
9. If you drop your wash mitt DO NOT PICK IT UP AND KEEP GOING!
10. Sit back and enjoy.

it doesn't take too much pressure, it should just glide across the surface with plenty of qd and thats all there is to it. It is very simple to understand what I am talking about once you get going on it. You will be able to tell how much pressure to apply.
