Tomorrows detailing victim......
If the moons and stars stay in proper alignment, I will be getting together with 2stroked tomorrow and we will be giving my truck the TLC that it has desperately needed. It has all of the typical blemishes that a daily driver that has seen 7 NY winters and with 84K miles on it would have.
I have not had a chance to even clean it up after this winter except for a few washes at the local car wash. Before and after pictures will follow in the next day or so.

It has been raining for the past two or three weeks here, and tomarrow when every one is at the Husker red/white scrimmage. I will be detailing my truck! Thats right I live in the wonderful town that has a sold out capacity crowd for a spring training day scrimmage! You would think we are going to a bowl game or something its crazy!

Okay folks, sorry for the delay in getting the vital information up. 2stroked and myself got together and we assessed to paint on the truck to figure out our attack plan.
Here is what we did …… washed it with a mixture of water and bleach to make sure that all of the mold was killed. Then followed with paint stripper making sure to use a Scotch Bright green scrubber to make sure that anything that was left on the paint was removed….
All kidding aside, seriously this is the process that we used.
Washed with NXT car wash
One pass with #80 using a cutting pad
One pass with Scratch-X using cutting pad where needed
One pass with #80 using a polishing pad
One pass with #80 using a finishing pad
Collinite 845 insulator wax
Optimum Spray Wax
Hyperdressed wheel wells, tires and plastic
NXT wax on all chrome.

And finally for Rockpick, Rolling Rock and others, the wheel well shot:

Needless to say I am very impressed with the final look. There were a few spots especailly the tailgate that could have benefited from the usage of a rotary. All of this was completed with just the use of a DA.
Just as a reminder, this truck is daily driven and has on the odometer over 84k miles. Since I bought it 4 years ago, it has been kept outside all of the time and has seen 7 western New York winters.
I want to give credit where it is due by thanking 2stroked for his time in doing most of work and Boss429 for some insite that was used in the procedure. I helped in removing some of the product after it set up and cleaned the interior.
This just shows that a vehicle with an older finish can be brought back with a little TLC.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Again I am amazed at the difference that this has made with the overall look of the truck and I can not thank 2stroked enough for offereing to do this for me. I am sure that he will chime in on this tomorrow with his take.
attworth - I havae to agree, that is one of my favorite pictures that was taken yesterday.

yup that is a head turning photo...nice job.
Walked out of Lowes today to find a note on my truck...it said "truck looks great, would you mind sending me the info on the detailer" followed by an email address.
That looks great. I bought my truck used a few months ago and it has the standard scratches and swirl marks that I need to get to work on. I"m hoping to resurrect mine somewhat like you did soon. Great pics.
