Effectiveness of #7 by hand?
how effective is #7 by hand? I'm going to tackle my truck tomorrow (and yes I know to get pictures) and i'm wanting to use #7 but I do not have the extra pad for my da.
Well, considering it is a pure polish, it is VERY effective by hand. That is how I typically apply it. Only when you get into abrasive polishes does effectiveness really start to depend on machine use.
Work it in, MF it off.
It's going to be really, really hard work to do by hand.
I may just hold off and just do #80 followed up by NXT 2.0
EDIT: or try the deep crystal polish?

Apply #7 by hand to one or two panels. Let the #7 just start to haze ... it will form a light "skin". Take a towel and lightly wipe to just remove the "skin" and leave oils behind.
Takes a few tries to get it right.

The DC polish has the same issues - a PITA by hand, it's got to be polished in and if it dries you will be kicking yourself. I did mine with it after the clay and wished I had used a regular old cleaner wax instead. I did finish with NXT 2.0 and that stuff is a dream to use by hand.

If #7 or DCP dries BEFORE you make it to removing it - or if you over work it to a dryness that is tough to remove, simply lightly spray the areas that need to be removed with a hit of DI Water. The water will make your work light years easier...
Also, some QD sprays work pretty well for the same task...
