Bored. Need ideas.

Well.. It's spring break for me and its nice and rainy outside. I want to do something to the interior of my truck but don't know what to do. It's clean, but there's always room for improvement. lol.

Hell, it dosn't even have to be related to cleaning just looking to do something to the interior of the truck.

I know some of you guys know something to do! lol

Go to walmart, and get yourself some red lights for the puddle lights in your doors.

I have green ones in mine, and everyone comments on them.

Puddle lights? Pics please? Not exactly sure which ones those are.

and for the next post i have Husky Liner floor mats... so my floors have never seen a foot. And the day i put them on i shampooed my carpet at work. ( i work at a car wash/detail place )

EDIT:: How hard is it to get & install red interior lights? Not just the "puddle lights" But like.. Neons and stuff.

Also: Where can i find an overlay or something for the dash where the speedometer is located, and how hard is that to install?

Puddle lights are the ones on the doors.

Here's a link for the gauge overlays. To install you have to remove the entire gauge cluster, it's not that difficult you just have to be careful of what your doing. Also you can check Ebay for gauge overlay's.

I went to advanced auto today and was gonna pick up some neons for the interior and ran into a shelf that was on sale.. Picked me up a neon stick for $2.80! haha. I've gotta go back and purchase another one full price because there was only one red one on the 75% off shelf.

That's all i got around to doing today.. Just been lazy didn't feel like cleaning and wanted a nice glow for the interior of my truck! haha

Probably because your mother has been in it so much.

Try studying...improve your GPA. That way when you get out of school, you can afford to pay someone to clean your truck

the inside dome lights are kits by Recon...however, knowing what I know about LED's now, I would have done it differently.

what is the light bulb size in your truck? There is another way to convert them that is WAY cheaper than the Recons.

I use http://www.autolumination.com/ for all my LED needs now that I found them. The F250's require an odd dome light so it was expensive.

I think the F150's use a different light which is easier and cheaper to convert.

Just need the bulb number...like 194 or 168 etc....

Tracy and Chris at the link above are very helpful.

awesome, I'm not sure right now, i'll have to look in the owners manual. I really like the looks of those lights in your truck. I'm going to get the bulb number tomorrow... did you do the center dome light and both reading lights up front?

I suspect your F150 is either a 164 or 168 size. My F250 came with two dome lights, each one with 3 lights, 1 overhead if you will and 2 map lights. They are all fastoon bulbs...which are tricky. There are still options.

A great place to cross refernece your bulbs is here.
http://www.sylvania.com/

I did a quick search based on a 05 F150
Map light
906

Dome light
578

A 906 is similar to a 921
A 578 is a fastoon bulb and thus you need to know the size and connector size to make these work.

My advice is to buy only a few of eash to see if they work for you then buy the rest of the set. That is the only bad thing about LED's there are so many crossovers.
