Help me replace this chamy !!

Years ago I required a chamy and I dont know where or how but I love it. It is on its last legs and I want to replace it.

It is not really a typical hide chamy. It is almost synthetic but not cloth or anything like the yellow ones, it drys almost hard but not like a animal hide one. When it is wet it almost feels rubbery if that makes sense, it sucks up water like crazy and it easy to ring out as well. I have bought a few made of hide to try and replace them but dont like them, they dont slide accross the truck very easily when wet and it is almost more work to dry the truck then it was to wash it.

Anyone have any ideas what I am talking about ? I believe I saw the chamy once used at a commercial hand wash place but not sure.

i know exactly what you are talking about...you can get them at WalMart, they come in a tube, however, that being said, I wouldn't let them touch paint. But that's just me.

They can scratch. Best to use the drying methods as described in the Detail Sticky.

I believe so. I have two. I have a sneaking susspision that they might be the root to some of my micro-marring but I sure do like the way it dries.

Like he said above. Wal-Mart.

I am familiar with the walmart one and that is not it, they are very thin and cheap, I would never use those either. This one is thick like a real Chamois but feel more like material when it is wet than actual hide. It just does not dry as hard as hide. But picks up water like crazy and is very soft and easy to ring out.

It is hard to explain I will post a pic when I get back to the cottage as thats where it is but not sure if that will do any good.
