Anyone use this little thing? I'm really thinking about getting one.

 

what is it?

 

a carpet shampooer... its "portable" and has like a 3 inch wide head so it's supposed to be good for automotive carpet.

It's been discussed before. I've batted around getting one. From previous discussions the reviews are split. Some really like it and for a person that owns one or two cars its supposed to do a pretty good job. I just can't justify a soil extractor's price personaly.

Downsides are that the water tanks are too small and some say that the suction is sub-standard.

If you get one I'd suggest the one with built in heat. that's the one I'm planning on buying.

 

I dont guess i've seen the ones with built in heat... i guess the one i've been looking at is just a "regular" one. Is it still considered a LGM but with built in heat? Or do you have to move up to the "Green Machine" to get the heat? Other extractors are WAY out of my budget.

Amazon has it for 92 plus shipping.... but you can catch them on ebay sometimes for a little less.

 

what about buying a steam cleaner vacuum? you could probably pick up a very nice machine with a stair attachment for around $150. you could easily convince your wife (if this is the situation) that it is a NECESSITY.

 

I have the top of the line LGM with the heat and turbo brush. I used it in my car and it did an extremely good job.

I spray the carpet with APC+ and scrub the carpet with the Meguiar's Interior Brush, suck that up and rinse with heated water from the machine. I thought I kept my car extremely clean, and the water being picked up was almost black!

 

All I can find is the Pro model... says nothing about heat or the turbo attachments (i've seen the turbo stuff just can't find one now)... think the pro has heat?

Edit: nvm, i found the one with heat... its called the ProHeat... duh for me.

gahh!!! ^^ thanks for showing me... now i realize a wal-mart that is fairly close to me has a few in stock.... grrr.... now thats going to make me want to go buy it!

 

It is well worth the money. Plus, you can use it for stains in the house. I used it on my couch with the supplied Bissel chemical and it worked great! Just make sure you rinse everything after each use. I suck up clean water afterwards to clean the hose and any other parts where the dirty water would have gone, preventive maintenance I guess.

 

after reading all the negative reviews on the walmart website im kinda wondering if it is worth the money

 

It has 4/5 stars? There's only 3 negative reviews out of almost 30.

thats the great thing about wal-mart though.... buy it... use it... not like it? Return it.

Edit: And it seems all the bad reviews are people trying to clean their household carpets... and carpet in the house it usually ALOT thicker than the carpet in the truck.
