Dealing with decals

So I got the F 150 FX4 and want to detail. How do I deal with decals? Clay and compound around the decals or go right over them??

I am not certain about the clay but definitely tape them off before any compound. They do not have clear over them so any compound will immediately start removing decal instead.

go around the decals with anything except when you wash and be real careful then only making one or two passes.

Remove them, it looks better anyway
