Washed the truck tonight
Washed the truck tonight *PICS*
So I got home after dinner and with this Spring ahead I knew I had some more light. I decided to try out some of the stuff I bought awhile back. All went well until it came time to dry it. I started off with the sheeting technique, and most of it came off. When I started drying it left a splotchy look and water spots. I was using meguiar's microfiber, and terry to dry. I think that two factors may have caused this possible besides my poor skills I hope. The sun was almost down and dark when I finished. The truck also hasn't had a wax/polish in a long time.
Going to finish it up and the morning and get pics then. Any tips for the morning?

I only tried drying one section and when it didn't work I gave up and just did 60mph behind my house and parked it.
Don't use those for drying, it's scratching your paint.
Pick up one of these ... Meguiars Water Magnet.

Make sure when your using any kind of cloth to dry that you don't rub it across the surface. Just "blot" the truck dry. Sure it takes longer, but you're going to avoid a lot of swirls and marring that way.

I got some Meguiars Gold class car wash, and wheel cleaner for cleaners.
For towels I got some Supreme shine Microfiber's and ultra plush supper terry. All Meguiars.
For rinsing I used a spray gun I got from work and put the wash in it and it worked great.

Here they are on Amazon:
amazon.com
And I couldn't find something matching that on the Meguiars site but here is something similar:
meguiars.com
Still think I would stick with the microfibers.
It poured last night
I swear every time I wash it rains here.
Anyway woke up this morning and had it. Went to autozone, picked up a clay bar kit, and wax. Rewashed and I'm in the middle of finishing up right now before I have to go to work. I'll try and take some pics when I'm done.

They have them at ADS.

Also, the water magnet is $1 cheaper at ADS, plus Rick is a great guy to deal with.
RSBeachBum,
If you ever need help detailing the truck,
I live in St. Pete to.
Later,
Devildog101
I see that now, but I still don't think I'd use them to dry my vehicle or for QD purposes. I agree about Rick, I use Auto Detailing Solutions for nearly all of my detailing purchases. I just google'd it real quick and posted the first link.

Read my post "Just tried a new product" and check out my pics. I used NXT 2.0 and Megs #26 over top of it. The results far exceeded my expectations.
Hope all goes well! Post pics and a little more information when you get a chance!
