Ugly Plastic B Pillar

Long time reader, first time poster...

I have a 2007 XLT Screw but I've seen this on Scabs as well. I am the only one who can't stand the ugly plastic that is between the front and rear door windows? Is there any possible way to make that area look nicer? I've tried everything and it just doesn't look right no matter what. It just looks dull! If Ford just surrounded the window frame with the same material the rest of the door is made from, like all other vehicles, it would look so much better. I think the older models use to have it, WTF? Whats the point?

I've seen chrome pillar covers but I'm trying not to go for that look. I've seen nice plastic covers on some Explorers that look pretty good. Do they make similar ones for F-150's? What do you guys do?

That's actually not plastic (unless they changed it on the 07). The 2004 had a glossy B-pillar but, the 05' went to the matte look (I've actually looked into changing mine to the 04' version).

The paint there should be treated like all the other paint on your vehicle but, be aware that the paint build is MUCH thinner than the regular paint, say, on your hood. That's important to note in the case that you have to polish out a defect or something of that nature...

Like you, though, I think it's one of those spots that could definitely be improved upon -- I just don't think that the chrome stick ons are an improvement (my opinion -- *shrugs*).

It may be advantageous for you to post this in the 2004-2008 forum as there are several who have the stick-ons and have upgraded to the glossy 2004 B-pillar version.
