My first attempt with a DA.

Yet another non F-150. My parents left their 03 Accord behind while they went south for the winter. I went by and picked it up and brought it to my house to practice with the DA.

The car is a black 03 Honda Accord with 78K miles. The car has only been waxed once since they bought it new. My dad bought the Griots kit so I am using that product on the car.

I have the car for a month so no big rush. I did the hood and front fenders.

Here is what I did and what I used.

1. Poorboys super slick w/2 bucket method
2. dried with 2 waffle weave MF towels
3. Taped off areas
4. 2x Griots polish 3 applied with DA
5. Removed with 16x16 MF plush towels
6. Griots show car wax applied with DA
7. Removed with 16 x16 MF plush towels

I am not very impressed with the Griots stuff and could probably do a better job with the Poorboys products. Seeing as this is only 2nd wax job ever I am not going to try and get it perfect. I did not get any sunlight pictures yet.
You can see the blue flake again. I told my mom about being able to see the blue flake again and said, "I had not seen the blue flake since it was new".

Looks much better. Maybe more swirl remover? (Not sure what product you're using.)

Are you looking at the fender? .. or the door? I see a few SLIGHT scratches but that's the nature of lights like those.

Door.. Looks like a bit of spiders. It's a definite improvement and art in the layman's eye.

Good job man

I had the same experience when detailing my friend's black 04 Acura TL. He bought it used and I never noticed a blue flake in it until we detailed it a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure that he ever noticed it either.

Read the sticky at the top of the Care and Detailing Section before someone castrates you.... Just kidding. But seriously, read it. Very informative.

Why would anyone chop his man berries off?

He's just asking a question...

A "DA" is a Dual Action buffing machine like THIS

I didn't mean anything offensive by it. Just seems a visit to the sticky was in order. We all ask silly questions, and they all warrant valid responses. I just felt that pointing him to the sticky would provide more knowledge than can be presented in this thread.

My apologies.
