Chemicals for exhaust tips?
Chemicals for exhaust tips?
OK So for spring time I want to be prepared with whatever I can to get my exhaust tips back to normal. They are crudded up with black stuff that doesn't come off with a regular wash and polish with a chrome hand polish.
What is the strongest chemical I could use on the tips (Magnaflow 16616 system) without ruining them? I'm dying to get this crap off.
Or any other tips? What to use instead of just a terry towel that wont scratch them up, ect.

I know some of you think that I run around beating the Meguiar's drum over and over and over but, hear me out on this one...
The NXT Metal Polysh is really a good product. I have a Maggie 16612 on my truck and it does a FANTASTIC job at removing the 'gunk' that is built up.
Keep in mind that if you have lots of baked on stuff (tar, etc), you may end up needing to use a light solvent like Body Solvent or similar to really cut the gunk off and then finish with a clay job on the tip.
Another fantastic metal polish is Heavy Metal Polish (thanks Boss!). I've been using this stuff for a while now and really like the 'medium wadding' (green). It's good stuff!

Heck, pretty soon I might be able to send this to RP to help him with Sticky v2?
